Demi Moore is an American actress, producer, and director. She is well-known for her roles in a variety of films, including Ghost, St. Elmo’s Fire, A Few Good Men, and Indecent Proposal. Early Life
Demi Moore was born Demi Gene Guynes on November 11, 1962, in Roswell, New Mexico. She was raised in a strict Southern Baptist household and was the oldest of three children. Moore’s parents divorced when she was just three years old and she was raised by her mother, Virginia King, and stepfather, Danny Guynes. Moore dropped out of high school at the age of 16 to pursue a career in acting.
Career
Moore made her film debut in 1981’s Choices, but it was her performance in St. Elmo’s Fire that launched her career. She went on to star in a variety of films, including Ghost, A Few Good Men, and Indecent Proposal. She also starred in the television series Charlie’s Angels and had a supporting role in the cult classic Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. Moore has also produced and directed a number of films.
Activism
Moore has been a vocal advocate for women’s rights and has been involved in a number of charities throughout her career. She is a co-founder of the charity organization, The Demi and Ashton Foundation, which works to end child abuse and human trafficking. She is also a supporter of the Women’s Media Center, which works to elevate the voices of women in the media.
Personal Life
Moore was married to Bruce Willis from 1987 to 2000, and they have three daughters together. She was also married to actor Ashton Kutcher from 2005 to 2013. Moore currently resides in Los Angeles and is the mother of three daughters.
